"Cross media publishing" richtet sich an Studierende der Richtungen [Online]Journalismus/Kommunikation, "Hacking the info layer" ist für Techniker, Infodesigner usw gedacht. "Investigativia" sind Einzelvorträge und enthalten, was der Titel besagt. Der aktuelle Vortrag Die "Crypto Wars" - WikiLeaks 1.0 und fokussiert auf die letzte Phase der Befreiung sicherer Verschlüsselungsprogramme aus der Domäne der Militärs [1995 - 2000]

ab It is fun to hand over a few skills acquired during 25 years in journalism to academia. Besides the musts of 21 century journalist handicraft there are a few tricks needed when investigating in depth. When things can turn out nasty because the objects of research are not amused. That is what the "investigativia" series of lectures is all about. Recent: "The crypto wars - WikiLeaks 1.0 focusing on the last period of crypto liberation 1995-2000.

Cross Media Publishing

Im Zentrum der Vorlesungen, die eigentlich Workshops oder Medientrainings sind, stehen Recherche und Nachrichtenproduktion im Netz. Dazu kommen Konfiguration von Mail-Verteilern, Forenmoderation etc. da ein Mehrwegmedium eben neue Skills erfordert. "Cross Media Publishing" nennt es sich deshalb, da neben Netzmedien [mit verschiedenen Zielgruppen] auch Teletext, Radio und Webvideo bedient werden. Die Agenda für beide Semester

Investigativia

Diese Vorträge drehen sich um den grassierenden Überwachungswahn und Cybercrime, Datenschutz bzw. IT-Sicherheit und finden an so unterschiedlichen Orten wie dem Chaos Computer Camp, der London School of Economics oder an der Wirtschaftskammer Österreich statt. Zumeist basieren sie auf Dokumenten, die bis dahin nicht öffentlich waren.Ausgewählte Vorträge

Investigativia

From 1996 I have been lecturing regularly on IT and telco network surveillance, privacy, cybercrime, data protection and the likes. Locations are pretty much different such as the LSE, The EU parliament, the Chaos Commmunication Congress, or the Austrian chamber of commerce. Academic lectures

The main course has been held at the Universities of Applied Sciences in Graz [2002 - 2009] and now in Vienna. It is more of a workshop or a media training than a classical university lecture and it is based on a cross media strategy.
